Guys and girls.
I've been asked by Phil Austen-Jones to arrange a Charity Golf day on Sunday 8th August to help raise some money for research into Epilepsy, which as some of you may know, affects his wife Rachel. Thankfully, her condition has been somewhat stabilised recently and Phil would like to give something back for the help they have received from various charities along the way.
The venue will be Oak Park Golf Club, which is situated in Crondall, which is at the top end of Farnham, just off the Odiham Road.
The day will include a 3 club challenge on a 9 hole course to get the swing going followed by some lunch and then 18 holes of participation in golf in whatever form you choose to use. Then its into the club house for some awards, an auction and maybe some drinks ... If you want.
For those who have played in previous Golf days, you'll know the rules.
For those that havent, rules will be published prior to the day for you to become acquainted but here are a few samples of the awards given, in addition to the normal-
VFM ( Value for Money ) - Given to the golfer who has taken most value for their money on course.
Who can Hit the Fairway - Given to the golfer who actually hits the appointed fairway
Closest to the Green - Hitting the green doesnt count - It is he or she that comes closet to the green that gets the prize.
I would like to stress that this day is very much open to everyone. You do not to be very good at all. In fact this will probably help you, although a little practice at a driving range may come in handy.
The day is meant to be enjoyed and although serious competition is not to be discouraged amongst decent golfers, it is not the point of the day.
If you're interested, please just reply to this post. If you wish to bring some friends, please do as the more the merrier . If you wish to sponsor a hole for yourself, team or a company, that would be brilliant and much appreciated and finally, please remember that it is all designed to give a little to those who help others..
All the best
Toby

Well... Anyone else interested ? Pls just post a reply. I need to give Phil a gauge on numbers.
Lots said they'd come along at the Dinner Dance but alcohol probably numbed the memory !!
Stick your name in pls.
