This year I really, really mean that I am really, really getting too old for all of this.
I joined in Sept 1991, so 20 years this season, scary as I now captain a side wherein half the players werent even being thought about, let alone born, when I joined. Even scarier is that this team contains Godfrey (vc), the Glorious Leader (Lemmy), the Wise One (Jerv) and the Sofa (Jamesy - ask him) amongst all this upcoming talent.
I'm here to bring on the nextgen and to have one final blast before possibly hanging my boots up and wandering into the night to find the HQ where the fallen reside, the Valhalla of 3rd XI legend of old. Yep..the Hall of Tiff.
Oh. I see that its currently vogue to list previous and present club positions. So
- Ex 3XI capt and in charge of the best bunch of blokes you could ever meet..
- Did the minis for years with some others.
- Was responsible for producing the only newsletter ever to be censored by AFHC :)
- Ex Tour arranger of dim and distant past.
- Ex Mixed captain.
Lots of other stuff but I'm giving up here.
