And back again...
Well the prophesy from last week ("the season starts here") came true. I love it when my crystal ball works.
And so it came to pass. And / or so did we. Drawing on the Surbiton game, this week was a simple case of a) exert an early authority b) don't let them have the ball c) do something with it when we did.
Having established quick dominance we created the early opportunity for a Lemmy p-flick and a well finished Lemmy short corner, only to be thwarted by two half (and only chances) from Barnes to go in 2-2 at half time.
Having sat down at half time and worked through how once again we were in a game we could win, this time we actually did. Barnes had little to offer in the second half, but we couldn't score. Until 5 minutes from time when, not the prettiest, but certainly the most important goal of the season thus far was touched in for Lemmy's hat-trick.
As last week, everyone played superbly. Thanks to Macca for umpiring - fabulous goal earlier by the way. Lots still to work on, but we're getting better.
