Match Report - 28 Nov 2009, Aldershot and Farnham Hockey Club Mens 4 lost to Leatherhead Men's 2's
Mmmmn.
Outmaoeuvered rather than outplayed. Restricted chances against to 4, created a hatful ourselves and still lost 3-1. Largely in the first fifteen minutes, when we found ourselves 2-0 down.
Difficult to pick out too many plusses. Lots of effort, extra half a yard of pace required though to win the 50-50s. Even our goal put itself as an early contender for the pink fluffy boot (the trophy for best 'worst' goal of the season for those new to the Mens 4s).
Still, we take heart. On any other day the score could have gone anywhere, in anyone's favour. We can compete in this league. We just need to be firing on all cylinders.
MOM: Ian...everywhere and nowhere, baby.
DOD: Mark...did a very balletic windmill routine. Thrice. In five seconds.
Krug: The goal...excellent approach, disguised (awful) finish.
