Match Report - 17 Oct 2009, Aldershot and Farnham Hockey Club Ladies 3 lost to New Milton 2
Mmm, the excuse this week was that we went out with 10 to 'Far far away', including an injured goalie who couldn't hold a stick. We didn't play as bad as the result though, especially our midfield and attack made up in effort for missing 1 person in the middle.
First half New Milton scored out of 2 short corners with 2 sharp hits in the corners of the goal. The goalie didn't have time to cover the angle, while the defense at the posts would see a flash, hear a bang behind them and then see the ball bounce back out of the goal. New Milton made it 3-0 in the first half by sending a ball flying past the goalies ears.
2nd half Aldershot & Farnham started using the self-pass to their advantage, creating several opportunities. If only the umpire would have given us another short corner. Rosie protested, and then stomped towards the umpire as she got called over. By now Ladies 3s had given all their energy, and New Milton got the hang of high balls past the goalie and scoring out of short corners. The final score being 9-0. Player of the match goes to Suzie, with runner-up Zoe. Thank you to Zoe en Naomi for helping Ladies 3s out.
